Woodmaxx is our denser mid-size path: 6 FM models from 47″ to 85″, published 2-year parts warranty, and hammer or Y-blade configuration at order on every FM SKU we cover. H-suffix models add hydraulic side shift (3 in catalog). Woodmaxx is also our active affiliate partner.

MechMaxx EFS, NAM, VAM, and KDK flails
MechMaxx is the broader value catalog: 12 models across 5 series (48″-72″), published 1-year warranty, and hammer-only rotors in every SKU we cover. Series span light-duty EFS decks, wider NAM/NAM-H hammers, articulating VAM ditch-bank heads, and heavier KDK side-shift decks.
Price band in catalog: $1,499 to $3,699. 4 level side-shift models (NAM-H and KDK) and 3 ditch-bank VAM models. Do not add those counts together — VAM is not a second side-shift class. models are included.
- EFS: Light-duty value decks for compact tractors
EFS48 and EFS60 — light-grass decks with 0.8 lb hammers and a published ~0.75″ material limit. 15–35 HP class. EFS60’s 15 HP floor is 3.0 HP/ft, the catalog edge.
- NAM: Heavier hammers and wider cuts
NAM60/68 for 30–60 HP; NAM72 for 45–85 HP. 1.8 lb hammers and a 5″ rotor — width-per-dollar against Woodmaxx FM decks, not a 30 HP 72″ mower.
- NAM-H: NAM cutting package with hydraulic offset
NAM68H (30–60 HP) and NAM72H (45–85 HP) add 8″ left or right of slider travel (16″ total). That is not Woodmaxx cut-edge-from-PTO reach, and it is not ditch-bank tilt.
- VAM: Articulating heads for tender-grass banks
VAM48/60/65 keep the tractor on level ground with hydraulic swing and tilt. MechMaxx limits the line to green or tender grass — not tall grass, shrubs, vines, or brambles. Two rear remote pairs. Offsets 69/77/85″.
- KDK: Cat 2 decks for tougher roadside work
KDK63H and KDK72H — Cat 2, 6″ rotor, 2.7 lb hammers (fewer of them: 37.8 / 43.2 lb total vs NAM’s 50.4), ~13″ extend, 50–75 HP. Heavier frame, not more rotor steel than NAM72H.

Our catalog currently covers 6 Woodmaxx FM models (47″-85″) and 12 MechMaxx models across 5 series (48″-72″). Counts follow manufacturer SKUs we have verified, not every color or bundle variant.
Does MechMaxx offer Y-blades?+
Not in the MechMaxx EFS, NAM, NAM-H, VAM, or KDK SKUs in our catalog. Those lines publish hammer packages. If order-time Y-blades matter, look at Woodmaxx FM models.
Which brand has ditch-bank flail mowers?+
MechMaxx VAM. Articulating heads with hydraulic swing and tilt so the tractor can stay on level ground. MechMaxx limits VAM to green or tender grass — not tall grass, shrubs, vines, or brambles — and the hammers are 0.9 lb. Two rear remote pairs. Woodmaxx H models shift laterally; they do not tilt.
